The company
Founded in 1958 in Bolzano, Isolcell is an ISO 9001-certified public limited company that initially pioneered the production of gas-tight cold storage units. Over the years, our focus evolved from atmosphere maintenance to the development of advanced atmosphere generation and control systems, positioning us as a leader in the industry.
One of Isolcell’s key strengths is our ability to handle the entire system creation process in-house. From design to production, everything is managed directly at our main site, ensuring complete control over quality, innovation, and efficiency.
Innovating Fire Prevention with Advanced Nitrogen Generation Technology
Isolcell has always been at the forefront of innovative fire prevention solutions. In 1969, we pioneered a combustion-based catalytic converter to reduce oxygen levels, followed by the development of a nitrogen generator using molecular filtration. These groundbreaking innovations not only contributed to preserving perishable materials but also laid the foundation for advanced fire prevention technologies based on oxygen depletion.
Building on these experiences, Isolcell developed increasingly sophisticated nitrogen generation solutions, initially using membrane technology and later advancing to PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology, which utilizes molecular sieves to efficiently produce nitrogen.
In 1998, Isolcell took a major step forward by developing and patenting the ADOX® series of generators, utilizing VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology. This technology, still unmatched today, represents the pinnacle of nitrogen generation and oxygen reduction fire prevention.
Innovative Fire Prevention Technology: Pioneering with N2 ORS® System
Founded in 2005, Isolcell was one of the first Italian companies in the fire-fighting and fire-protection sector to emphasize fire prevention in its purest form. Prior to this, the industry was focused on fire-suppression technologies, which aimed to reduce response times and limit damage after a fire started. However, our groundbreaking technology goes beyond suppression—our systems make it impossible for a fire to ignite in the first place, ensuring complete protection of both people and property.
The N2 Oxygen Reduction System (N2 ORS®), developed by Isolcell, prevents fires from starting in a protected environment, completely avoiding the damage caused by both fires and traditional suppression methods. This approach not only protects assets but also minimizes risks associated with fire-fighting systems.
Thanks to the unique characteristics of our fire prevention solutions, Isolcell stands out for unparalleled reliability and safety. Our N2 ORS® system has received prestigious certifications, including ÖNORM, UNI EN 16750, IEC 61508, ISO 20338 and VdS, highlighting our commitment to the highest standards of fire safety.
